Today I feel like … Monheim
In collaboration with the Monheim primary schools, the Monheim art school organised a special art activity: all
primary school children were each given a box with a brush, paint and paper. After short exercises together,
which helped the children to concentrate and calm down, each child painted their respective state of mind on the
paper in the form of a facial expression. Whether happy, amused, sad, thoughtful, amazed or surprised - they
created very different faces that show the range of human emotions in their individual handwriting. Afterwards,
all 2700 sheets were put together to form a large collage and presented as a poster on the outside façade of the
Mo.Ki. centre in Heinrich-Heine-Straße. Every child can now see their own painting there.
In addition, three of the participating school classes were drawn by lot and given the unique opportunity to
realise the ‘Today I feel like...’ once again in public together with Jeppe Hein. Equipped with brushes and blue
paint, each child chose one of the blue circles that had been drawn on the wall outside the art school. A large,
joint mural was created as a work of art in public space.
