Today I feel like … Manchester

In 2021, Therme Art and Manchester International Festival (MIF) joint to create a local school engagement programme aimed at providing a platform for discussing mental health and wellbeing in the wake of a challenging year defined by the global pandemic. As part of this initiative, they have commissioned Jeppe Hein to realize Today I Feel Like… across Greater Manchester.

From 4–17 June 2021, workshops were held across 13 local schools involving 988 students. Following the activity, the postcards were returned to MIF and Therme Art, and were displayed at Festival Square from 9–11 July 2021.

It was also quite a profound experience and something that I am going utilise further. I do many assemblies that start with a meditation or wellbeing exercise and have never been brave enough to use art as a conduit for whole school assemblies.”
